Club members attend trips and Roundhay Park sessions free of charge, and pay a reduced rate at pool sessions. Once a member, you may take advantage of the Club’s licence to paddle at Roundhay Park, and can also hire equipment at reasonable rates. Membership also offers discounts on leading brands of all canoeing gear through local stockists.
Once you become a member of the club, you will receive a membership card and New Members pack filled with information about starting canoeing. You will also receive a copy of the club's magazine and calendar three times a year.
Non members who can already paddle are welcome to come along to our pool sessions, but members pay a reduced rate so the sooner you join the sooner you save! With the exception of 'Come & Try' events, the facilities at Roundhay are for club members only. Non-members who attend river trips must pay a £2 taster day fee to become a temporary member of the club.
How much does it cost?
We are one of the best value canoe clubs in Yorkshire! Current membership rates are shown on the application form. Membership runs from when you join to 31st August. It is also recommended that members join the British Canoe Union at the same time to take advantage of its access and insurance schemes, and the competitive sides to the sport. BCU membership forms are available from the Club at pool sessions or from the secretary.
Concessions
Membership concessions are available for those on benefits or a low income, via the LeedsCard Extra scheme. A LeedsCard Extra can be obtained from Leeds Leisure Services for only £2, and entitles the holder to half price membership of the Club as well as numerous other discounts.
