Act as a focal point for volunteers within the club, raising the profile of volunteering and providing the support that the club wishes to offer to volunteers.


Get to know the members

Identify the club's volunteering requirements

Recruit volunteers

Arrange buddies or mentors, for new post holders elected at the AGM and other volunteers

Ensure role descriptions are up to date

Help volunteers to be effective in role

Provide support to volunteers

Maintain volunteer motivation

Coordinate the pool rota

Keep records of volunteer info, qualifications and training

Maintain job descriptions

Ensure volunteers are adequately screened and trained

Provide information on training and the latest initiatives

Organise volunteer meetings and events (such as the pool helpers training, paddlepower workshops, etc)

Ensure the club database is kept up to date with relevant records


Good organisational, administrative and problem solving skills.

Good working knowledge of White Rose Canoe Club.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.


Access to a PC highly desirable.

Time Commitment

A mainly administrative role requiring a couple of hours a week at most.
